Or, as the New York Times explains, why you may not want to learn about typography after all.

  1. This article intrigued me to the point where I went and wrote a post on it. I’d like to learn more about typography – can you point me a couple of good directions?

Sources for non-experts: The Ellen Lupton book I passed around in class, /Thinking with Type/; the Ilovetypography.com blog; the film /Helvetica/ (wanted to show this in class but ran out of time); anything by Stanley Morison, a type historian *and* developer of the ubiquitous Times New Roman typeface.

    Interesting stuff, all. I wish I knew more.
